Port Royal Brands Opens Family-Friendly Sports Bar at The Battery Atlanta | Walk-On’s leverages smaller footprint in evolving Atlanta dining industry

ATLANTA, Ga. (June 24, 2025) – A new sports bar concept is now open at The Battery Atlanta, serving up scratch-made, Cajun flavor.

“Our brand is the perfect fit for a venue like The Battery, where sports fans and families congregate throughout the entire year,” said Chris Porcelli, CEO. “Our scratch-made, fresh, never-frozen menu sets us apart by offering Louisiana-inspired items in addition to your traditional bar favorites. We are truly a sports bar for fans of all ages and are thrilled to continue our growth with this location at The Battery.”

The new eatery will bring Louisiana-inspired dishes, 50+ televisions, and energy to match the Everyday Is Gameday sports-focused environment. The restaurant features a walk-up bar window, allowing visitors to grab a cocktail or beer to go while still creating the same atmosphere as sitting within the main dining area.

The location will be the second Walk-On’s location for Port Royal Brands, with Marietta, GA, being the first of a 20-restaurant development deal with the brand. Founder Phil Sanford and CEO and Marietta native Jef Wallace are excited to continue expanding their footprint throughout the state of Georgia.

“To open a sports bar that prioritizes flavor and family fun just steps from where the Braves play in my hometown feels surreal,” said Wallace. “I’m excited for fans and families to have their new favorite restaurant to catch the big game or share a meal together."

Walk-On’s is ranked ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar in America and prides itself on not using the typical freezer-to-fryer model of other restaurant chains. Instead, bar favorites are hand-prepped with strong Cajun and Southern flavor influences. Signature dishes include Pepperjack Boudin, Fried Alligator Bites, Crawfish Étouffée, the Hickory Burger, and the Ragin’ Redfish.

“Cajun food is essential to our DNA, but our menu has something for everyone, ensuring the whole family and excited sports fans can enjoy,” said John Hagen, Senior Director of Culinary. “For me, anytime a dish is considered for the menu, I ask myself if it’s craveable, delicious, and memorable. If it’s not, then it doesn’t meet our standards.”

As part of the ribbon-cutting celebration, the Walk-On's team presented a gift of $4,000 to the Dave Krache Foundation, helping Atlanta-area youth have better access to recreational sports.
